Irresistible India – 30 Hours Fort Kochi in 10 Pictures

Between my Ayurveda Panchakarma retreat and the flight to Taipei I had about 30 hours in Fort Kochi, the old part of the City of Kochi in Kerala, India.

Kochi has a rich history and was the centre of Indian spice trade for many centuries, and was known to the Greek, the Romans as well as Jews, Syrians, Arabs, and Chinese since ancient time.

Below I have included 10 pictures that I hope convey the spirit of Fort Kochi a little bit… As you can probably feel – I had an amazing time! 🙂

Small banana store in a back alley of Fort Kochi
Tea Pot Cafe – great selection of teas! 🙂
Pomegranate in a shop in beautiful afternoon light
Small fish market where things seem to be done the traditional way
Fish market part two
One of many amazing (and so colorful!) fruit stores
Agree!
Life inside the Santa Cruz Cathedral
I saw these words all across the city…
Do you want bananas or apples?
